Zoe Morfas is a composer from Los Angeles, California, who is currently studying music composition at Northwestern University. At 8 years old, she began playing electric guitar and writing rock music. Years later, Zoe writes in a variety of styles including acoustic and electronic music in genres such as such as pop, rock, contemporary classical, and some experimental works. Her music has been featured in films, video games, and other digital media (see Projects). Zoe’s primary composition teachers include Tod Cooper, Christopher Mercer, and Hans Thomalla. She currently studies under Alex Mincek.
Most recently, Zoe’s music was performed by Northwestern University’s Contemporary Music Ensemble. This spring will feature a premiere of her music performed by the Renaissance Singers.
